BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio – A mother of a 2-year-old girl and her boyfriend were charged after the toddler was found beaten and unresponsive, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department.

They now both face additional charges as the little girl, Kinsley, died Thursday evening.

Kinsley’s father posted the sad update on his Facebook page shortly after she passed away.

First responders were called to the home around 6 a.m. Wednesday for an unconscious child. Kinsley was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office investigation division spoke with the hospital and determined her severe injuries were the result of consistent child abuse. Her injuries were life-threatening and was on life support.

“I am beside myself,” the sheriff said.  “I have met some truly, sick people in my career, people who have done terrible things and this, I can’t even begin to grasp.  I am going to work closely with the Butler County Prosecutors Office to seek the highest punishment possible for the people who did this.”

Rebecca, Kinner, 23, has been charged with permitting child abuse. Her boyfriend, 26-year-old Bradley Young, has been charged with felonious assault. The child’s health will be monitored to determine if additional charges will be filed.

The hashtag #PrayForKinsley has been on social media throughout the day Thursday and Kinsley’s father, Scott Senft,  has been posting updates about her on his Facebook page.

There is also a GoFundMe to raise money for Kinsley’s healthcare.
