SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — An officer responding to the massacre inside San Bernardino’s Inland Regional Center Wednesday promised he would ‘take a bullet’ for a group of terrified people inside as he led them to safety.

On what appears to be cell phone video posted to YouTube, the officer leads the men and women through the building,  telling them to keep their hands where he can see them.

“I’ll take a bullet before you do, that’s for damn sure,” he tells the group. “Everyone relax.”

The people in the group are mostly quiet but are clearly afraid as they breathe hard and whisper. Some say thank you to the officer.

Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik are the suspects in the massacre which ended with 14 people dead and 17 injured.
