PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida- It wasn’t a vacation one family expected while enjoying the sun and sand at a Florida Panhandle Beach. While playing in the water, a father and his four kids spotted a shark feeding frenzy.

According to WALA,  Blake Whitlow was with his family at Inlet Beach when the calm surf exploded into action just yards away from the family.

Whitlow said, “It was amazing to see it, looked like the water was boiling. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was amazing. It was kind of scary but it was pretty neat. I’ve got four kids and three of them was on an inflatable raft and we saw in the distance behind them some troubled water.”

According to Whitlow, he first thought it was porpoises or dolphins, but his wife thought differently and immediately made the kids get out of the water.

Whitlow told WALA, “They were about 3 to 5 foot long most of them, but there are hundreds of them in the water.”

The sharks were going after bait fish that were swimming around the shallow surf.

Whitlow said the frenzy went on for a long time and others gathered on the beach to watch the experience.
