Two suspects accused in shooting death of 5-year-old in court, bonds set at $1M
CLEVELAND – Marlon Hackett Jr. and Malik Norman both appeared in court Thursday for arraignment on murder charges in the shooting death of 5-year-old Ramon Burnett.
Both Hackett Jr. and Norman plead not guilty and both of their bonds were set at $1 million dollars. They will both appear in court again on November 23 for a pretrial hearing.
Ramon was playing in his yard in early September when he was shot during a drive-by.
A warrant was issued the day after the shooting for Hackett, Jr. and stated that Hackett fired a shot from his car, hoping to kill Dontavius Williams. Instead, 5-year-old Ramon was killed.
After the shooting, Ramon was found with one gunshot wound to the chest and immediately taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he died of his wounds.
Overall, five suspects were wanted for the shooting.
Fields, Croskey and Williams have not yet appeared in court.
