Police investigating homicide in North Ridgeville

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - North Ridgeville police are investigating the homicide of a 69-year-old woman.

On Friday evening, police in that town got a phone call from a man who told them that he had just shot his wife at their Jaycox Road home. When police arrived at the house, 74-year-old Ronald Svec met them in the driveway. They found Gloria Svec in the kitchen of the house with multiple gunshot wounds.

Mr. Svec was taken into custody. Mrs. Svec was taken to St. John's Westshore Hospital, where she died from her wounds.

Ronald Sveck is currently being held in the Lorain County Jail and is charged with one count of murder and one count of felonious assault.

Police are still investigating this case and Fox 8 will have updates as they become available.
