Police: Razor blade found in candy bar given out in Central Ohio

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio — Police in the central Ohio community of Reynoldsburg are warning parents to inspect the candy their children get from trick-or-treating.

There was a report of someone finding a razor blade in a candy bar.

Police say the object was found after trick-or-treating, which took place on Thursday night.

Police are investigating the circumstances and inspecting other candy items that were handed out in the area.

WSYX in Columbus reported that kids were trading candy when one bit into a bite-sized candy far and found a small razor blade wedged inside the middle. Police told WSYX the package had been tampered with and that other pieces of candy had tears in the packaging. That candy was taken to the Franklin County morgue to be examined.
