CLEVELAND-- The FOX 8 I-TEAM has learned hearings have started to determine possible punishment for two teachers caught in a steamy, romantic meeting in a classroom.

Students and a parent reported what they saw at the RG Jones School, a pre-K through 8 school on Cleveland’s west side. Those witnesses said they saw the teachers kissing and groping each other.

The I-TEAM obtained statements to investigators. First, the teachers said they had hugged and shared a gentle kiss after discussing a personal problem. Then the male teacher added the female teacher had been on his lap going over lesson plans. Parents heard about the investigation and told FOX 8 they are furious.

The school district says the teachers have been placed in desk jobs outside of that school, and that “due process” is being followed according to the union contract. Ultimately, the school board would vote on any discipline. We’re not naming the teachers unless there is, in fact, punishment.

Meantime, the I-TEAM also reviewed the personnel files for the teachers. Both have received high marks from supervisors, and neither has had disciplinary trouble on the job before.
