HURON CO., Ohio — South Central Local Schools are closed on Wednesday because of a series of Facebook posts that appeared to be threatening.

According to an alert on the district’s website, the threats were found Tuesday night. The alert states that the campuses were evacuated and secured and that all students and staff were safe.

“I want to assure you that our campus is safe for our students and staff at this time,” superintendent Martha Hasselbusch said in a statement.

The schools will be closed Wednesday for all students and staff for all the district’s campuses. Extracurricular activities will resume Wednesday afternoon,

The threat is just the latest in many made at schools all over Northeast Ohio.

Just  this month alone, threats were made in several school districts, including Mansfiled, Brunswick, and Eastlake North High School.
