Police: Video shows suspected drunk driver refusing to stop, crashing into parked cars

CUYAHOGA FALLS- Caught on camera , Fox 8 obtained the frantic last moments of a suspected drunk driver who is now dead after speeding from police in a brief high speed chase.

Cuyahoga Falls Police Chief Jack Davis says he is thankful no one else was injured in Friday night's chase, adding the suspect was driving recklessly and at a high rate of speed.

The suspect, 24-year-old Calvin Ralston, refused to stop, according to police. Ralston has several prior convictions including attempted robbery.

The high speed pursuit caught on dash camera video, started after police received information about the car driving recklessly.

The suspect led police into Akron .

A short time later the suspect crashed into some parked cars.

The car is damaged and the suspect had trouble getting it to move. On the dash camera video you can hear the officer ordering Ralston to get out of the car but he refuses.

He eventually gets the car moving and a moments later he crashed again.

This time police say the car was totaled and Ralston severely injured.

Ralston died at the hospital. The Summit County Medical Examiners Office says he suffered severe injuries from the crash.

The car he was driving as well as the ones he hit were towed to Bowers Towing in Akron .

Cuyahoga Falls is doing an internal review of the crash to determine if the officer followed the policy.

Meanwhile Akron police are investigating the accident.
