Lorain police impound car in connection with hit-and-run that killed teen

LORAIN, Ohio- The Lorain Police Department impounded a car on Wednesday in connection with the hit-and-run that killed a 17-year-old boy.

Jayvian R. Johnson was walking with his girlfriend on West 23rd Street in Lorain Monday night when he was hit by a car, police said. The vehicle fled and Johnson was taken to an area hospital, where he died.

The car impounded by police is a silver, 2008 four-door Dodge Avenger. It's considered a vehicle of interest.

"The car was coming fast. It didn't slow down. It didn't stop. It didn't even swerve to try to dodge him," Andrea Bentley, Johnson's girlfriend, told FOX 8 News.

Johnson, who was set to graduate from high school in January, just enlisted in the Army on Monday.
