LORAIN, Ohio- The Lorain Police Department impounded a car on Wednesday in connection with the hit-and-run that killed a 17-year-old boy.
Jayvian R. Johnson was walking with his girlfriend on West 23rd Street in Lorain Monday night when he was hit by a car, police said. The vehicle fled and Johnson was taken to an area hospital, where he died.
The car impounded by police is a silver, 2008 four-door Dodge Avenger. It's considered a vehicle of interest.
"The car was coming fast. It didn't slow down. It didn't stop. It didn't even swerve to try to dodge him," Andrea Bentley, Johnson's girlfriend, told FOX 8 News.
Johnson, who was set to graduate from high school in January, just enlisted in the Army on Monday.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash should call Office Walend at 440-204-2115.
