BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- Students at Hickory Ridge Elementary School, 4628 Hickory Ridge Ave., were evacuated from the building Tuesday morning due to a bomb threat.

Brunswick police said the threat was called in to Hickory Ridge Elementary School around 9:48 Tuesday.

Their investigation revealed the threat came from a "robo-caller" computer program and was one of several such calls made to schools or facilities in Ohio.

The school was evacuated and the students were transported to the Performing Arts Center at Brunswick High School where they were released. The building was checked by school and police personnel and was cleared again by explosive detection dogs at 12:35 p.m.

The FBI and Homeland Security have also offered their assistance.
