COLUMBUS, OH – The top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes face their biggest challenge to date against a Penn State team that has won five straight after an opening loss to Temple. Two years ago in Columbus, the Buckeyes won 63-14 but last season needed double-overtime to defeat the Nittany Lions 31-24 in State College.
Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer uses a dual-QB system. Ohio State backup QB J.T. Barrett now takes over in the red zone for Cardale Jones. Barrett in the last game against Maryland engineered five TDs in five tries, scoring three on runs. The Buckeyes have won 19 straight overall and 26 straight Big Ten regular season games.
