CLEVELAND- Employees at The Deli on Cleveland's west side are on edge Wednesday.

"About ten minutes before we closed, some guys came in and tried to rob the store. They took one of our employees hostage and he got shot, two times," said Adam Barhoum, of Rocky River.

Barhoum's father owns the store.

Surveillance cameras were rolling as the two masked gunmen the Deli on Franklin Boulevard overnight.

The video shows the men take an employee hostage and then use him as a shield.

"When they found out they weren't getting anything, they ended up shooting the hostage they had," said Barhoum.

Barhoum's father confronted the gunmen. The video shows they fired off at least six shots toward him.

Amazingly, he wasn't hit and then the two gunmen fled the store.

The employee, Miguel Villafana, 45, is currently in fair condition at MetroHealth Medical Center.

The police report says at least seven shell casings were found in the parking lot.

Wednesday, there were bullet holes in the deli counter, the hostess stand, even the ice cooler.
