Driver identified in crash that killed 70-year-old bicyclist

NEW RUSSIA TWP., Ohio -- A suspect has been identified in a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a 70-year-old bicyclist.

The crash happened on Butternut Ridge Road in Lorain County on Saturday.

Authorities say that on Monday they received a tip saying the vehicle involved was in the Oberlin area. Oberlin police found the vehicle in front of a home, and it was determined that it was involved in the hit-skip.

A 76-year-old man, authorities say, was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash. He is cooperating with investigators.

Charges are pending.
