ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- Rocky River police are warning residents after a rash of attempted break-ins over the weekend.

According to an alert from the Rocky River Police Department, the attempts were made at several homes during the nighttime hours on Oct. 9 and Oct. 10.

The homes are located on Parkview and Mercedes avenues and on Westhaven Lane and Idlewild Drive.

Police say the incidents were very similar to each other: screens to windows and doors were cut or removed in some instances.

Several unlocked vehicles were also entered, and property was removed.

Police say it's a trend they are seeing in more and more west side suburbs. They ask anyone who notices something suspicious in their neighborhood to contact police.
