Crews battle smoky fire in Wadsworth factory lot

WADSWORTH, OH -  A fire that sent heavy black smoke into the air above Wadsworth kept firefighters from 4 cities busy this evening.

The blaze began around 7 p.m. at an open impound lot at  a business at 350  Main  Street. The business, Specialty Processes, was storing rubberized materials and Styrofoam crates. Crews had to use a backhoe to move the materials in order to reach the actual fire itself.

Fire crews from Seville, Chippewa and Rittman were on scene as well.

One firefighter was reported to have a minor injury.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known and will be under investigation.
