CLEVELAND HEIGHTS - In October 2013, Mindy Manyo was severely injured in a hit-and-run on Fairmount Blvd. in Cleveland Heights.

After nearly two years, two men have been charged in connection with that accident.

Derrick Platzer was charged with aggravated vehicular assault, tampering with evidence and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.

His brother, Frank Platzer, has been charged with tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice.

Both suspects will appear in court on Thursday.

Manyo, 56, was riding her bicycle on Fairmount Blvd. near Lee Road on October 3, 2013 around 9 p.m. when a car hit her from behind. Mayno was wearing light, reflective clothing. Police say the driver stopped the car on top of her and then sped off, dragging Manyo underneath and running over her.

Manyo suffered a shattered leg and wrist, three broken ribs, a broken back, a head injury and massive road rash.

According to Cleveland Heights police, she has recovered to a point following her injuries.
