A new interview from Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter paints the actress and comedian as a loner who smokes weed and is nothing like her public persona.

Chelsea O’Donnell, who is reportedly living with her boyfriend in New Jersey, spoke with the Daily Mail Online about what it was like to grow up as Rosie’s daughter.

She also spoke about what she says really happened after her adopted mother reported her missing back in August.

Chelsea told the Daily Mail that her mother is not the “bubbly” and “engaging” person she is in public when she is at home.

“I find her not genuine a lot of the time. When we’d go out, she was a completely different person in public than at home and I had a hard time with that. It’s like two different people,” Chelsea said in the interview. ‘Rosie wears tight Spandex shorts and a T-shirt around house. She doesn’t get dressed and never wears make-up unless someone comes to do it for her.’

The 18-year-old also said despite Rosie’s public claims about the importance of family, she was raised primarily by nannies, and is closer to two of them than she is to Rosie.

Chelsea described Rosie as a loner who would lock herself away in her room or an “arts and crafts house”, blast Madonna on the stereo, and smoke weed.

Chelsea disputed Rosie’s claims that she ran away back in August. She claims Rosie threw her out of the house two weeks before her 18th birthday. She initially went to stay with her birth mother in Wisconsin before moving in with her boyfriend in New Jersey, the Daily Mail reported.

Chelsea says she does suffer from depression, but is not “mentally ill” as Rosie claimed.

Rosie O’Donnell has not commented on the interview. But a spokesperson told US Weekly that it’s “heartbreaking on every level.”
