SACRAMENTO, Ca. — A worker with an employees union in California has filed a grievance over the restroom policy at a Sacramento Department of Motor Vehicles call center.
CBS13 reports that DMV managers there deduct pay and leave time for employees who take more than seven minutes on a bathroom break. The policy started when managers became concerned that employees weren’t spending enough time at their desks.
A DMV spokesperson released the following statement regarding the situation:
“The DMV is aware of a grievance filed by the union and the DMV is in the process of preparing a response. The DMV takes these matters seriously and is looking into the allegations.”
