GASTONIA, North Carolina – It was back in the 90s when Adrian Franklin and his wife Brooke were first put together.

But back then, they were just a flower girl and a ring bearer in their parents’ friend’s wedding.

Now, they are starting their life together as husband and wife, according to WSB TV.

It all started when Adrian was just 5 and was told he had to walk down the aisle with Brooke.

“I was like, ‘No, tell me I don’t have to walk down the aisle with her?’ he said.

But Brooke already knew she liked him.

“He couldn’t stand me,” Brooke said.

“She had a crush on me, but she got on my nerves; I can remember that,” Adrian replied.

Brooke said the proposal was romantic, involving both of their families.

They knew that the same aisle they walked down as children was the best place to start their future.

“We’ve had people tell us we’re young. And that’s all right.  We accept that, but at the same time, we know it’s God ordained and for God to bring our steps together this far, we know our steps have been ordered by the Lord,” Adrian said.
