A new study says only about half of all college graduates believe their degrees were worth the cost of tuition.
Forbes reports that the new study from Gallup-Purdue Index also said that about 38 percent of “recent” graduates “strongly agree” that the cost of their education was worth it.
As far as longer-term alumni, about 77 percent felt the costs were justified.
Forbes reports that the average cost of college tuition is at more than $21,000 per year for public schools and over $46,000 for private schools.
The study also found that about 2/3 of recent graduates had to take out student loans.
