CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Firefighters are at the scene of a large fire near University Circle.
Cleveland firefighters say the fire involved a vacant industrial structure at 1880 East 123rd Street. It started at around 11 a.m.
Fire department spokesman Larry Gray said crews fought the fire for over two hours; as of 1 p.m., the fire was about 80 percent out. About 80 percent of the building had collapsed.
Gray said there is an apartment building adjacent to the warehouse; residents there were evacuated after windows started to burst from the heat and flames.
Gray said one firefighter was injured and taken to the hospital with what appeared to be minor smoke inhalation.
Roads in the area were closed as crews fought the fire. Gray said crews planned to demolish the rest of the building once the fire was under control.
