Man shot and killed during robbery outside Cleveland liquor store

CLEVELAND- Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed outside a liquor store on Cleveland’s east side.

It happened at about 7 p.m. Friday at Deep’s Liquor on Central Avenue near East 74th Street.

Cleveland police said a man tried to rob the 40-year-old and the two started fighting. That’s when the suspect shot the victim in the stomach, stole his wallet then rode away on a bicycle.

The man was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he died.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Roderick Redwine, of Cleveland.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland police.
