CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio-- Tuesday was a very special day for Lessie Brown of Cleveland Heights. She turned 111 years old.

FOX 8 stopped by for the celebration that included family and friends. Lessie was born in 1904 in Georgia; she came to Cleveland in 1922. She married and had five children. She now has 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren. That's a lot of birthdays to keep track of!

Of course, we had to ask to what she owes her longevity. Lessie's daughter, Bernie Wilson, told us that her mom used to love sweet potatoes. "She even told a lot of people that would eat sweet potatoes. They thought that would give them longer lives too."

Lessie said she's thankful that God has blessed her to live this long.

Happy birthday, Lessie!
