Sloppy Joes – Emily Blunt

  • 1 Tbs vegetable or olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 or 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 lbs. ground beef (chuck)
  • 1 C. ketchup
  • 1 tbs A-1 sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Big pinch red pepper flakes
  • Rolls or buns
  • Optional iceberg lettuce and shredded cheese



Soften 1 medium onion in 1 tbs oil over medium heat (about 5 minutes).

Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Stir in ground meat, turn heat up to medium high and brown until all red color disappears. Stir in Worcestershire, A-1 sauce, white vinegar, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Reduce to simmer. Cover and cook 10 minutes.

Serve over bread or on buns with or without lettuce and cheese. Anyway you like!
