Today, Thursday, September 17,  from 6 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.,  we will have live segments throughout our newscasts from the Cleveland APL on Willey Avenue in Cleveland.

We will be taking pledges by phone and online to help the Cleveland APL continue their mission of saving animals' lives and finding good homes for those in need.

Beginning at 6 a.m., here are the numbers to call: 216-566-PETS (7387) OR 1-866-392-PETS (7387)

For Dick Goddard, a longtime pet advocate, he couldn’t be more excited for this day. Along with raising money,  in honor of Dick Goddard and FOX 8,  the Cleveland APL will be open today from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. with an adoption special.

Adult dogs, (5 months and older)  will be available for adoption for $88.00, and cats and kittens will be available for only $8.00.  The regular adoption fees are $95.00 for dogs, $45.00 for cats and $95.00 for kittens.

Special-edition Dick Goddard telethon shirts will be available for purchase for $15 inside the lobby of the APL as well.

For those who call and want to make a continued monthly pledge, they can learn how to become a Dick Goddard Pet partner.

All throughout the day, we will share with you very special stories about some of the special pets currently at the APL.  Please tune in to FOX 8 News today. You will learn a lot and if you make a pledge, you will be helping an excellent cause.
