STRONGSVILLE, Ohio-- He was hit by a car and left for dead. Police are searching for the driver who left evidence behind. The impact of the crash was so strong that pieces of the suspect's gold Volvo, a side view mirror, and broken glass from a headlight, were all left at the scene in Strongsville.

Victim's relatives say Theo Traczyk was walking home from a local pub at around 1 a.m. Sunday when the hit-and-run happened along a residential stretch of West 130th.  He was thrown several feet and knocked unconscious.

A passing driver noticed his body lying on the side of the road and called 911. "He had blood all over. It seemed like he had a cut from behind him," said Akrum Jamal.

Police say they are following several leads including asking for surveillance video from nearby businesses. The victim remains hospitalized with a ruptured spleen and bleeding in the brain. His family is grateful for the driver who stopped to help.
