Arrest made in hit-and-run that claimed life of Canton woman

PLAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio-- An arrest has been made in a deadly hit-and-run accident that happened in Plain Township on Thursday night.

Stark County Sheriff deputies said they arrested Robert Allen Garcia, 30, of Canton on Monday.

Authorities said Garcia was driving westbound on US 62 when his car struck and killed Terri L. Calhoun, 56, of Canton.  He's accused of not stopping when it happened.  A maroon 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix was taken as evidence.

Garcia was booked into the Stark County Jail Monday afternoon.  He is being held on a $100,000 bond and is awaiting arraignment in Canton Municipal Court.
