MEDINA, OH - New charges have been filed by a grand jury against Eric Warfel, the father of Ember Warfel, whose body was found in her crib about a month after she died.

The new charges of endangering children and possession of cocaine are in addition to those of gross abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

1-year-old Ember was found in her crib in a Medina apartment in July by a cable installer. Warfel told police Ember died on or about June 18. He said he did not remove her body from the crib and did not notify anyone of her death.

Warfel also told authorities that he threw trash into the child’s bedroom to disguise the smell of her decomposing body. He reportedly was living in a motel when the baby’s body was found. It was also confirmed that another of Warfel's children died in 2013.

Warfel  pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
