COLUMBUS – Top-ranked Ohio State heads into today’s home game against Hawaii coming off an impressive road win over Virginia Tech Monday night. The short week for the Buckeyes might be one of the only things working against them in their home opener.

Ohio State is not the only highly ranked team that will be heavily favored today. No. 2 Alabama hosts Middle Tennessee, third-ranked TCU welcomes Stephen F. Austin and No. 4 Baylor entertains Lamar.

Ohio State was the unanimous choice this week to be the top team in The Associated Press Top-25 poll. The Buckeyes got all 61 first-place votes to lead Alabama, one of a record 10 schools in the Top-25 from the Southeastern Conference. Along with Ohio State, Michigan State at No. 5 is one of two Big Ten schools in the top five.

Hawaii coach Norm Chow says his team is ready for the fight and they aren’t making a 9,020-mile round trip just to be a pushover for Ohio State.
