COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Buckeyes lead the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors 14-0 at halftime in their home opener for the 2015 season. They defeated them 38-0.

The Buckeyes took some time to get on the board Saturday, but were able to keep the Rainbow Warriors off the scoreboard. Both touchdowns in the first half were scored by running back Ezekiel Elliott.

The Buckeyes continued to add to their lead, scoring a field goal in the third quarter and another Ezekiel Elliott touchdown in the fourth.

Elliott’s touchdown was followed by two more, scored by Jalin Marshall and Bri’onte Dunn.

The reigning national champions are coming off of a week 1 win over Virginia Tech, the only team they lost to on their way to the title last season.

The Rainbow Warriors are also 1-0, defeating Colorado last week.

The only thing working against the Buckeyes this week is that they’ve only had four days of rest since their 42-24 victory over the Hokies on Monday night. The Rainbow Warriors have had 6 days rest.

Ohio State kept the Number 1 spot in the Associated Press poll after their win. Hawaii is not ranked.

Hawaii coach Norm Chow says his team is ready for the fight and they aren’t making a 9,020-mile round trip just to be a pushover for Ohio State.
