MANHATTAN, KS –  Kansas State University is apologizing for their band’s halftime performance Saturday night. And it’s not because the band played off-key.

The Kansas State band made a formation depicting the Starship Enterprise from “Star Trek” attacking a giant Kansas Jayhawk during their game against South Dakota. The Jayhawks are the Kansas State Wildcat’s biggest rival.  At one point, the Enterprise heads toward the Jayhawk and that’s where things got a bit dicey.

Some viewers saw something different than what the band had obviously intended.

This led to some apologies from the university president and the band

We will leave it up to you to decide for yourself.

By the way, the Wildcats beat the Coyotes 34-0.
