CHICAGO,IL – Target is about to take shopping to a whole new level. A level that some may see as fun…if not a bit of a danger for impulse buys and wallets everywhere.

A new Target store near Chicago’s Navy Pier is all set to become the first in the nation to not only sell packaged alcohol but to also serve it in the store!

The Chicago Tribune reports that Target has applied for a “Consumption on Premises” liquor license for its new store under construction in Streeterville, according to city records. A spokesperson for the store confirms that Target has applied for a license to sell liquor. The $4,400 license must be renewed every two years.

The smaller sized Target is slated to open in October.
