AKRON, Ohio -- Former Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic has been issued a warning for urinating in public, according to police reports.

According to a police report, the incident happened late Wednesday night near the Engineering Research Center on the University of Akron's campus.

Police say the former mayor was urinating on a tree outside of his rental car. When police confronted him, they say he was rude.

The report states Plusquellic said he "knows they don't do anything," and he "figured he would give us something to do on a slow night."

He was then issued a warning.

Plusquellic retired in June after 28 years as mayor of Akron.

FOX 8 News tried but was unable to reach Plusquellic for comment Thursday.
