Two men appear in court in connection with murder of woman in Ashtabula

ASHTABULA, Ohio-- Two men appeared in court on Wednesday to face charges in the murder of a mother of four.

Kyle Starkey, 24, said very little as he made his first appearance in Ashtabula Municipal Court. Starkey is facing charges of murder and gross abuse of a corpse. He is accused of killing his girlfriend, Mandy Gottschalk, 36.

Ryan McBride, 21, also appeared in court. He is facing a charge of abuse of a corpse and obstruction of justice. He is accused of helping Starkey bury the body.

Gottschalk's body was found Monday in Ashtabula. She was last seen on Aug. 15.

Both men are due back in court in the next few days.
