CLEVELAND, Ohio — They are our unconditional friends — now, let’s show them  a little love!

Wednesday is National Dog Day.

The unofficial holiday was founded in 2004 by Pet Lifestyle expert, author and animal advocate Colleen Paige. The goal is to bring attention to our canine pals and animals waiting in shelters for their forever homes.

And a survey by Milo’s Kitchen says Ohio is ranked the No. 9 most dog happy state in the U.S.
