MEDINA- An attorney representing a Medina man charged in connection with his daughter's death requested a lower bond in a Medina County Common Pleas courtroom Monday.

Eric Warfel is charged with gross abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

His 1-year-old daughter, Ember, was found dead inside his apartment last month.

Court documents accuse 34-year-old Warfel of using garbage to cover up the odor, but his attorney said that is not true and asked for his bond to be lowered.

Prosecutors argued that the one-million dollar bond was based on factors that theĀ  baby was left in her crib for six weeks and that Warfel has a history of failing to make court dates in past cases.

The judge continued the one million dollar bond amount.
