CLEVELAND, Ohio — A man was arrested after police were called and told he was waving a gun Saturday.

According to police reports, it happened in the West 117th Street and Triskett Road area.

When officers arrived, they ordered the man to put his hands on his head. They found what they described as a realistic-looking BB gun in his back pocket.

No charges have been filed yet, but the 34-year-old is still being held as the incident is still under investigation.

The Fox 8 I-Team back in April reported that Cleveland police are making reports for “facsimile firearms” sometimes dozens of times a year. Police can file a charge when something like a powerful-looking BB gun is used in a threatening or alarming manner.

In Ashtabula, it is now illegal to brandish a replica gun that looks real.
