CLEVELAND - Summer break is coming to a close as Cleveland Metropolitan School District is back in session.

Back in July, Cleveland schools announced their new campaign to keep kids in class, 'Get to School.'

"Our CEO has initiated this campaign to get our students here because we know that once students aren't in school, the graduation rate definitely drops. And we are pushing our district representatives as well as all of our teachers and our administrators to get our school, excuse me our scholars here, and to definitely our graduation rates up," said Tiffiani Jones, principal at John Marshall High School.

The main goal is to keep the students coming back every day.

"Attendance is the focus, but usually attendance is so much more than that it's finding out why students aren't coming to school and making sure that we can help them and to ensure that school can be a priority and focus in their life."
