GHANA – Yvonne Pointer has opened a preschool in Ghana, West Africa  in honor of her daughter.

Gloria Pointer was only 14 when she was beaten, raped and murdered in 1984 in Cleveland.

Ever since, her mother Yvonne has been an advocate for children.

Hernandez Warren, 60, was found to be her killer after DNA evidence linked him to the crime and he has since been sentenced to life in prison.

Somehow more than 10 years after Gloria’s death, the story about her was found in Africa. “A young man…found a piece of paper in 2003 about the rape and murder of Gloria Pointer,” Yvonne said.

“The fact that her name lives on in this village in Ghana, West Africa is a blessing,” she added.
