WALTERHILL, Tenn – A teen is thanking Siri and local police dispatchers after they were able to save him when his truck collapsed on top of him.
Sam Ray was working on his truck when the jack propping it up collapsed, dropping his truck on top of him.
According to USA Today, he tried several times to call 911 through Siri since his phone was in his back pocket, where he couldn’t reach.
A local dispatcher figured it was a butt dial until she heard cries for help.
The dispatcher was able to use his signal to find a general location, but Ray screaming his address helped even more.
Once help arrived, Ray was airlifted to a hospital nearby, but he was trapped for almost 40 minutes.
Ray suffered broken ribs, a bruised kidney, cuts and a concussion. Doctors say he is very lucky his injuries were not more serious.
“I guess I’m stuck with an iPhone for the rest of my life,” he said. “I owe them that.”
