CLEVELAND- The man convicted of crashing into a Westlake bar and injuring more than a dozen people was sentenced to prison time on Monday.

In October, Brandon Pawlak, then 26, crashed into the Dover Gardens Tavern in Westlake. Police said he lost control of a stolen pick-up truck following a high-speed chase in Avon.

Pawlak was sentenced to 35 and a half years in prison. A Cuyahoga County jury found him guilty of 30 of 32 counts, including aggravated vehicular assault, felonious assault and grand theft.

He apologized during his sentencing, but insisted he was not driving the truck.

The crash injured 13 people. Bartender Bethany Capasso thought she was going to lose her legs, but suffered a broken tibia and fibula, a lacerated liver, and broke ribs.
