CLEVELAND- A worker leaving Quicken Loans Arena Saturday night was attacked by more than 50 people, according to Cleveland police.
The 18-year-old victim was walking to the Tower City parking lot just after 11 p.m. when a teen stole his new iPhone. The victim's mother told Fox 8 News he reacted by trying to take back his phone, but was confronted by dozens of males.
Police said between 50 and 75 males punched and kicked the victim until an off-duty corrections officer broke up the fight.
According to the victim's mother, the Q employee was hospitalized, and suffered bruising on his face and body. She said he's lucky he didn't have any broken bones.
The victim's mother said Quicken Loans Arena security is working with the family to see if their cameras captured the incident.
