It’s common for couples to fight, but one expert says there’s a way to argue that will make a relationship stronger.

Tracey Cox says on that the first step is to remember that every couple fights. When that argument starts, she says, make sure you know what you’re arguing about. She says to take turns talking, look for a solution and actually record the fight.

She said recording can be effective for two reasons.

First, you know every word that comes out of your mouth is being recorded so you’ll think before you talk. Second, playing back the argument gives both involved a chance to hear what you really said rather than what you thought you did.
