CLEVELAND– Authorities arrested a man wanted for stabbing and killing a woman in Akron; she was his girlfriend and the mother of his 8-month-old baby.

According to a press release, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with the Cleveland Police Department, arrested Michael Huguley, 35, today on Harvard Ave. in Cleveland after a tip was called in.

Huguley is accused of killing Jasmine D. Williams on June 23 in Akron. Authorities said he took off before police and paramedics arrived.

“We hope that the arrest of Michael Huguley brings some peace and justice to the family of Miss Williams. Crimes like this are the reason this task force exists, to get dangerous fugitives off the streets,” Assistant Chief Brian Fitzgibbon said in a press release.
