EUCLID, Ohio- Dive crews and the Coast Guard were called to Sims Park in Euclid at about 5 p.m. Tuesday.  The Coast Guard searched the waters with boats and helicopters for a man who was reported to be in distress in the water.

According to the Coast Guard, one of their crews did find an unresponsive man in the water there and the mission became a recovery effort.

Fox 8's Jennifer Jordan is on the scene. She reports that the 30-year-old man was swimming with a friend when he went into some kind of distress and began bobbing up and down in the water. The friend tried to help him but could not.

The man's family and friends told Jennifer they were at the beach to beat the summer heat.
