Cleveland police hold opening ceremony at new Third District Headquarters

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Police Department and Mayor Frank Jackson held a grand opening ceremony Sunday for their new Third District Headquarters.

The new building, located near East 55th on Chester Avenue is an energy-efficient facility that is featuring local artwork and will have a community room for public events and meetings.

The ceremony began at the old Third District building located on 10600 Chester Avenue. The names were read of the officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Flags were lowered at the old building and then raised at the new building in honor of those officers.
