STREETSBORO, Ohio- A police pursuit in Streetsboro ended in a deadly crash Tuesday afternoon.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said it started with a shoplifting incident at Aurora Farms. An Aurora officer got out of his cruiser and ordered the suspects to stop, but they fled.

By the time the officer got to state Route 43 and Frost Road, the crash had already happened. Troopers said the suspects' car struck a UPS truck and an SUV before hitting a box truck head on.

The female passenger of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 34-year-old Cleveland man, was taken to Akron City Hospital in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash was cleared shortly after 4 p.m., but the fire department said SR 43 between Frost and Ethan remained closed for the police investigation.
