Man threatened manager while stealing sanitary napkins, Akron police say

AKRON, Ohio — A man faces charges after police say he threatened a Family Dollar store manager with a knife-type object before making off with two boxes of sanitary napkins.

Police said it happened at around 3:30 p.m. at 19 North Arlington St. Police reports state that the suspect entered the store and walked around. The manager recognized him as a previous shoplifter, and approached him.

At that point, police said, the suspect pulled out a sharp metal object and threatened the manager. Police reports state that he then grabbed two boxes of feminine sanitary napkins and fled the store.

Officers stopped the suspect a short distance away, and arrested Gregory Alan Dillard II, 27, of Akron. He was charged with aggravated robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into Summit County Jail.
