DENVER- An 8-month-old German Shepherd was found with her mouth taped shut on a Denver street over the weekend.

A group of good Samaritans tried to help the dog, whose front paws were bound together.

"I didn't know if it was real because the dog wasn't moving," Carl Allen told KDVR in Denver. Allen noticed the pup while driving with a friend.

"It was terrified, very terrified," Allen said. "It's tail was tucked and it started urinating on itself. Once we started petting it, it started calming down a little bit. I could only imagine what it was going through."

According to the Denver Animal Shelter, the dog appears to be healthy and will undergo more tests. If police identify a culprit, the person could face animal cruelty and abandonment charges.
